As we completed the week of prayer for children there was a bust that broke up a trafficking ring in Houston.  Dozens were arrested and many set free.  Therefore we will continue to pray and watch as the Lord dismantles the human slave market in our area.  Human trafficking involves both international and domestic victims and can include labor and/or sex trafficking. The victims are largely women and children, with runaways being especially vulnerable. Houston is the American hub for human trafficking.
The Church in Houston must stand up against this injustice. We cannot continue to worship in peace and safety while our city is being used for such an evil endeavor. The stand starts with prayer. It is our hope to raise up an army of praying people seeking God's heart for the children of our city.

In the last verse of the Old Testament we read these words," He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse," Malachi 4:6. A prayer guide has been developed to help us align our hearts with God's heart as we turn our attention to the plight of the children in our city, and to help us pray in unity. Use the prayer guide in your prayer closet, during the prayer at meal times, in your small group, or in the prayer ministries of your congregation. E-mail prayer@NewHavenHOP.com and request the Prayer Guide for Children.
