One purpose of the New Haven House of Prayer is to bring together the congregations in the area to establish night and day prayer by providing a place for perpetual worship and intercession. A Prayer Center for the community will utilize several different prayer models as we see all kinds of prayer by all kinds of people ascend to the throne of our King.

Intercessory Worship (IW) is the term used by NHHOP for a model of prayer that creates an environment where sustained, enjoyable prayer takes place. The IW model is based on the ‘harp and bowl’ principal found in Revelation 5:8 where the 24 elders fell down before the Lamb, and each one has a harp (music) and a golden bowl full of incense (prayers).
The IW Ministry is dedicated to fulfilling the 24/7 mandate by building and equipping teams of intercessors, musicians, singers to fill 84 time slots (2 hour duration). However, the main point in this ministry is to equip passionate worshipers who are engaged in sustained, ENJOYABLE prayer. These saints come together to combine their skills and their passion for Jesus into a beautiful symphony of praise, worship and powerful intercession.
