In Genesis 18:32 God said that he would not destroy Sodom and Gomorrah for the sake of ten righteous men. Derick Prince and other historians estimate the population of Sodom and Gomorrah at about ten thousand during this conversation between Abraham and God. If we apply the same ratio to the Houston area, which has a population of five million, we would need five thousand; five thousand who have not bowed their knee to the lusts of our culture, five thousand passionate and wholehearted followers of Christ. Therefore, as we ponder and pray over Houston we sense the need to call for five thousand Christians who will intercede for our city. Five thousand who will lay down their lives to see His will done and His Kingdom come to Houston.
